The 7 chakras
The Chakras are the energy centers of the body in many spiritual belief systems. The word Chakra means “wheel” or “cycle”. Chakras are spinning wheels of energy that are located along the spine. Chakras are focal points of life energy that connect the body to the world around you. If the Chakras are balanced the energy flows through them and helps the mind mentally and spiritually as well as physically. But if the Chakras are “blocked” it can impact you physical, emotional and spiritual in a negative way.
crown (Sahasrara)
The Crown Chakra also know as the Sahasrara in Sanskrit, is the seventh chakra. It is located at the top of the head and is associated with spiritual connection, higher consciousness, enlightenment, and divine wisdom. When the crown chakra is balanced it promotes a sense of inner peace, fulfillment, and connection to something greater than oneself. But when blocked or out of balance, it can lead to feelings of disconnection, confusion, or lack of purpose.
third eye (ajna)
The Third Eye Chakra also known as Ajna, is the sixth chakra. It is located in the middle of the forehead, slightly above the space between the eyebrows. The third eye chakra is associated with insight, intuition, clarity, and spiritual awareness. It governs our ability to see beyond the physical world, wisdom, and understanding. When balanced, it enhances creativity, clarity of thoughts, and spiritual connection. When blocked or imbalanced, one may experience confusion, lack of direction, or difficulty in trusting one’s intuition.
throat (vishuddha)
The Throat Chakra, also known as Vishuddha, is the fifth chakra. It is located at the throat, and its primary function is communication, self-expression, and truth. The throat chakra has the ability to speak your truth express yourself clearly, and listen with an open heart and mind. When the throat chakra is balanced, you can express yourself freely and authentically, articulate your ideas and emotions effectively, and maintain honest communication. But when it is blocked or imbalanced it can result in difficulties with verbal expression, fear or speaking up, or even physical issues like sore throats or thyroid problems.
Heart (anahata)
The Heart Chakra, also known as Anahata, is the fourth chakra. It is located in the center of the chest, near the heart. The heart chakra is associated with love, compassion, empathy, and emotional balance. The heart chakra acts as a bridge between the lower, more physical chakras (root, sacral and solar plexus) and the higher, more spiritual ones (throat, third eye, and crown). When the heart chakra is open and balanced, it promotes feelings of love for oneself and others, as well as sense of connection, harmony and emotional well-being. When it is blocked or imbalanced it may include feelings of isolation, lack of compassion, emotional numbness, or difficulty in forming or maintaining relationships.
SOLAR PLEXUS (Manipura)
The Solar Plexus Chakra, also known as Manipura, is the third chakra. It is located in the upper abdomen, around the area of the diaphragm. It is associated with personal power, self-confidence, willpower, and autonomy. When it is balanced, it is believed to enhance a person’s sense of purpose, self-esteem, and decision-making abilities. If imbalanced or blocked it can lead to feelings of powerlessness, insecurity, or a lack of direction.
sacral (svadhisthana)
The Sacral Chakra, also known as Svadhisthana, is the second chakra. It is located in the lower abdomen, about two inches below the navel. The Sacral is associated with emotions, creativity, sexuality, and pleasure. When it is balanced you feel emotionally stable, creative, and open to intimacy. When out of balance or imbalance, one may experience feelings of guilt, emotional instability, lack of creativity, of difficulty in relationships
root (muladhara)
The Root Chakra, also known as Muladhara, is the first chakra. It is located at the base of the spine, near the tailbone. The root chakra is associated with feelings of safety, security, and stability. When the root chakra is balanced, you tend to feel grounded, secure, and confident. If blocked or imbalanced, one might experience anxiety, fear, or a sense of instability.
